This week at Cubs we were making paracord bracelets, doing board games, and making badge designs! Our Akela, Scouter Joanne was running badge designs while other leaders were running board games and paracord bracelets.
Half of our Cub group was working on making paracord bracelets, which are made by re-looping and tying knots over and over to create beautiful patterns. In a survival situation, the paracord can be used for many things, such as knot work, and tying tarps to trees to form a shelter {which we have learned in various camps}. It was fun because KNOT only did we gain an essential survival tool, we also gained a stylish bracelet!
The reason paracord is a good item to pack in your camping bags is because they can be used for so many situations. The paracord itself is very graspable and strong because the cord is made of lots of little strings that individually are usable as well.
While half the group was doing paracord bracelets, the other half was playing board games and doing badge designs for our upcoming group camp. The theme for “KUBAROO CAMP” is Titans vs Olympians and lots of creative designs were drawn. As for the board games, there were some very fun ones like Hangman, Blokus and a few others. This went on for half the meeting until we switched it up.
So that was all for the meeting and I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed the meeting!
