Lest we Forget … Supporting our Veterans with Poppy Sales

Tonight’s service of Poppy Sales throughout the community is one of the best ways we can thank our Sponsor, Waterdown’s Royal Canadian Legion Branch 551, and our country’s Veterans.

Thank you all, Parents and Cubs, for supporting this initiative and representing 3rdWaterdown Cubs throughout our community.

There are two more ways Cubs can show our support for Remembrance Day. Cubs are encouraged to wear their uniforms on Friday to school to show our continued support to our Veterans at our School’s Remembrance Day Ceremonies.

And finally, if you can make it, Saturday will be the Remembrance Day Ceremony at the cenotaph in front of the Legion. 3rdWaterdown will be attending as a Group meeting in full uniform at 10:30am. The ceremony will be outside so dress appropriately for the Weather.

After the Ceremony the Legion has invited us in for some food and there is a Grand Opening of the new Waterdown Museum of Hope that we have been invited to walk through.  The content is being curated by High School students from WDHS.

Museum Grand Opening

Waterdown Museum of Hope invites you to join us at our Grand Opening! We are excited to welcome the community to our new home at the Waterdown Legion. Semester One student projects will be on display as well as artifacts from our permanent collection.
