DICC 23 Quick Reference

We are now one day away from our first camping experience of the year! This post is designed to have all the information at our fingertips to make it a little bit easier. I know there have been a bunch of emails, that serve a purpose, I’m hoping this post helps tie it all together. Information on the Camp can all be found at https://www.dorchestercuboree.com/schedule.html Drop-off starts after 6:00pm Friday, please do not show up ahead of time.

Please plan to arrive at Camp Bel after 6pm. We are registered as 3rdWaterdown in Monkey Sub Camp, you will have to park your vehicle and walk your Cub and gear into our camp site. We are SITE 16 on the West Side.

When you get to our Site you’ll need to sign your Cub in with me, I need to collect Health Cards and any medications your Cubs need for the weekend. (We don’t allow Cubs to administer Medications themselves for safety). We hopefully will have our tents set up so that Cubs can settle in their gear before Movie Night. Please ensure your Cubs are fed (there is no dinner) and dressed for a cooler evening. We have an amazing forecast for the days and cooler nights, please make sure they have good socks, (a couple of extra pairs would be a good idea), along with warm Sweatshirts and pants for nights. It will warm up for the day, and our 3rdWaterdown T-shirts will come in handy. Please make sure they pack for warm days and cool nights with good footwear for the day of activities. (No crocs or sandals) Campfire blankets for Mug Up would be amazing and if they have their Campfire Chair that we built last year, now is the time to bring it. 🙂

We are part of Monkey Sub Group and the theme this year is Shrek. We are encouraged to get creative and if you want dress up on theme. Yellow is our Sub Group colours and if your Cubs have a favourite Shrek Character and want to they can dress up. 🙂

PICK UP SUNDAY MORNING

Closing ceremonies are scheduled for 9 am and pick-up will start right after. Please come to retrieve your Cubs between 9:30 am and 10:00 am. Your Scouting Team of leaders will be exhausted and looking to go home, and that can’t happen till all Cubs are Picked up and returned to you. 🙂
